I was 100% going to be a train driver. My mum and I used to walk up to the station to meet my dad coming home from work and after his train left there was usually a freight train coming the opposite way. Pulling wagons full of coal and logs between Aberdeen and Inverness seemed like the coolest job in the world!
It's a far cry from teaching people how to code, but here we are. At least people aren't giving up on driving trains and getting AI to do it (badly) instead...
- Professional footballer, at 41 with two knee operations under my belt, I've made my peace this is probably unlikely now and amateur football is my level 😂

Working in IT network admin may not be the dream but it pays the bills
I always wanted to be a lumberjack.
I got a job and immediately chopped down three trees in the woods.
After cutting down the trees, I returned to the office just a few minutes later.
The Boss said, "Where on earth did you learn to cut down trees that fast?"
I told him, "The Sahara Forest."
The Boss replied, "Don't you mean the Sahara Desert?".
I said, "Oh, is that what they call it now?"
I wanted to be a plumber. And then my mum explained they did toilets as well as sinks, baths taps and pipes. Went off the idea. How shallow! 😀

Depending on what mood I was in that day...
